Understanding type of questions in PMP®, CAPM® Certification exam
  • Type of Questions : The PMP Certification Exam consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions, which must be answered within 4 hours. These questions are randomly generated from a question database which has several hundred questions. There is No Negative Marking. All Questions are Multiple Select Questions i.e. the examinee must choose one from the available four alternatives. The examinee does not need to type even a single word in the question paper.

    Out of 200 questions answered, 25 questions are dummy questions which will not be used for scoring. Please note that dummy questions are selected randomly by the computer and are not known by the candidate when taking the exam - so effectively candidates have to answer all the 200 questions to the best of their ability.

    Since 25 out of 200 questions are not used for scoring, so effectively, 175 questions are used for scoring for the exam.

    Out of 150 questions answered, 15 questions are dummy questions which will not be used for scoring. Please note that dummy questions are selected randomly by the computer and are not known by the candidate when taking the exam - so effectively candidates have to answer all the 150 questions to the best of their ability.

    Since 15 out of 150 questions are not used for scoring, so effectively, 135 questions are used for scoring for the exam.
